I hate the rain. It's the only time my car gets a wash, but it's not worth it.

Last night, I had a strange dream. A few Asian tourists came to visit me. (I think they were Korean because I was watching the U-17 World Cup on tv when I fell asleep. The tournament is being held in Korea. US was down 2-0 at the half.) I took them around the city and we visited all the attractions, and then started going to clubs and bars. It got really late, like 5 or 6 in the morning, and I realized I had work the next day. On the way home, it started raining hard. It was pouring down in biblical proportions. So I decided that I was not going to work the next day because of the rain*. I did this all the time for class in college, but haven't done it for work yet. So I prepared myself for a nice long sleep, knowing that I wouldn't be waking up early the next day.

Next thing I know, I hear a buzzer and see that it is only 8:00am. Somehow I felt so sure that I slept in late and would not be going to work today. Then I looked outside and for the first time in my life, was really disappointed to see it was not raining down sheets of water.

*Not going to work in the rain reminds me of one of my favorite Seinfeld conversations between George and Newman. From 'The Calzone:'

George at Newman's apartment
Knock , knock
Newman : Hello. What 's this?
George : Well I was dropping of the calzone money for the week .... Um shouldn't you be at work by now?
Newman : Work? It's raining.
George : Soooooo...
Newman : I called in sick. I don't work in the rain.
George : You don't work in the rain? You're a mailman. "Neither rain nor sleet nor snow ....." It's the first one!
Newman : I was never that big on creeds.
