I actually like science, but I think some scientific pursuits are a total waste of time, energy, and brainpower.
Did anyone really believe that if you somehow jumped into a black hole that you would end up in a parallel universe or be able to time travel? For those of you that do not study such things, that's what 'famed astrophysicist Stephen Hawking', some scientists, and many sci-fi fanatics thought would happen. Sorry to disappoint the Trekkies, but now he has a new theory on black holes: "If you jump into a black hole, your mass energy will be returned to our universe, but in a mangled form, which contains the information about what you were like, but in an unrecognizable state."
Short version: If you jump into a black hole, you will die and not be transported into a different universe.
So next time you're cruising around in your spaceship and you pass by a black hole, DO NOT JUMP IN!! Consider this your space-travel safety tip of the week. Next week, we will talk about the moons of Uranus. Viewer discretion is advised.
