I received a summons to appear for jury duty today. I've showed up for jury dury before, but I have never been selected. It was a good day for me to have jury duty, because it allowed me to get out of driving kids to camp.
 
I was getting all patriotic and psyched up to go perform my civic duty, but after calling the courthouse this morning, my juror group does not have to appear. What a bummer. I really wanted to hear people argue and say stuff like "I want the truth!" and 'You can't handle the truth!" And they were going to pay me $0.34 for each of the 18 miles I had to drive to get to the Martinez courthouse. That's some serious cash for someone in my tax bracket.
