I have played through 2 levels of The Two Towers game and have yet to gain possession of the ring. I like all the movie clips that were inserted as cut scenes. I'll keep you updated on my game progess.
This is the time of year when professional football players play to get a ring of their own. 12 teams have a chance to become Super Bowl champions. 8 of them will play this weekend. 4 of them will go on while 4 of them will go home. That's the beauty of the playoffs. Do or die. I'm psyched about this year's playoffs because it looks like every team has a chance to win it all. Only one will of course.
Here's my thoughts on this year's playoff teams in two sentences or less:
Jets: I like Chad Pennington. The last 3 SB champions have won with QB's who were not their team's number one started going into the season (Kurt Warner, Trent Dilfer, Tom Brady) and Pennington did not start the season.
Colts : I also like Peyton Manning. A great play action team with good runners and the best reciever in the game, Marvin Harrison.
Steelers Led by former XFL star Tommy Maddox, another QB who was not their number one starter going into the season (that's always a good sign for Super Bowl teams).
Browns: Yet another QB who was not the starter in training camp, but Kelly Holcomb has performed as well if not better than Tim Couch. But the Browns also have Dwayne Rudd, possibily the dumbest player in the NFL on their roster.
Titans: Not a very flashy team, but a very tough one. Maybe they can get that one yard this time. (HB slash out of the singleback formation)
Raiders: I don't like the Raiders simply because all these Raider fans have no respect for the 49ers.
49ers: They win ugly, but they can win. Key defensive players come back for the playoffs, but I just hope Mike Rumph is never left alone in man coverage.
Giants: I thought they were a boring team to watch, but they've been lighting it up the last few weeks. Tiki Barber's fumbles almost cost them a playoff spot. They sure cost Dave his fantasy football title.
Falcons: Michael Vick can make plays and he will need a lot of them to get this team deep in the playoffs.
Packers: Brett Favre and Ahman Green didn't do enough to help me win my fantasy league, but Favre can win a game by himself. No team wants to play them at Green Bay.
Buccaneers: If defense wins championship, Tampa would have 3 titles by now. But this year, Jon Gruden's offense have made them a decent scoring team.
Eagles: If A.J. Feely or Koy Detmer starts a playoff game, they will win. The backup QB-Super Bowl champs theory.
Playoff predictions (These picks are for entertainment purposes only. I, like the NFL, do not care about the spread, only the winner)
Giants vs. 49ers: 49ers. Only one team from NY can win.
Falcon vs. Packers: Packers. I don't think the Pack has ever lost a home playoff game.
Colts vs. Jets: Jets. The one team from NY that will win.
Browns vs. Steelers: Steelers. The backup QB-Super Bowl theory will pull one of these teams to victory.
