A few years ago, I made a New Year's resolution to never make any more New Year's resolutions. That means this year, I will make no effort to beter myself.

Our football game didn't turn out so great. We only had 8 players, so we tried to play 4 on 4 tackle, but there was too much open space and not enough tackles, so we stopped after the 5th kickoff return for a TD. But for future 4 on 4 tackle football games, the HB slash play out of the singleback set in the Madden playbook is unstoppable.

So without getting my fix of New Year's Day violence in through football, I went with my brother and 2 of my cousins to watch The Two Towers for the second time. The first time was kind of unsatisfying becasue we had to watch it from the second row of a sold out showing. This time, we almost watched it from the back row of a huge theater, but I was able to find some seats a little closer so it looked more like a movie screen and less like a widescreen TV. The characters in the movie are awesome. I remember Danny telling me he wanted to be an elf, so he could pull off some of the studly things Legaloas does. My cousin Derrick wants to be Gandolf. My other cousin Eric likes Aragorn, although he keeps forgetting the hero's name. I like Sam a lot more after the second movie becasue I see that he really is brave, doing stuff normal hobbits would never dream of. The funniest character in the movie though has got to be the flaming tree. I'm going to start playing The Two Towers game for the PS2. I am going to try and get the ring for myself. That can be my New Year's resolution.
