When I think of a volcanic eruption, I see images of violent fireballs and overflowing lava. So imagine how underwhelmed I was after we drove 3 hours to the other side of the big island to see this.

There was some volcanic activity going on during our short stay there and we heard it was pretty cool to check out. All we got to see was where the lava flowed into the ocean, resulting in huge plumes of smoke. You could see glimpses of the orange lava flow occasionally, but nothing like what I was hoping for.

On the plus side, I spent almost as many hours lounging on the beach and by the pool as I spent in workshops and meetings.
