I'm still mad that I can't find TMQ. I would go punt a poodle if I could find one. I don't like animals, except for sharks with fricken laser beams, but I really don't like animal rights activists.

I read this article in the Contra Costa Times (yes, I do read newspapers) about how some people at PETA want the town of Rodeo to change its name because "Rodeos involve frightening and hurting animals in the name of entertainment." PETA offered to donate veggie burgers to schools if the town decided to do this. Yeah, change our town name and then eat meatless burgers. What a deal.

As if the idea of it wasn't dumb enough, they suggested that the name be changed to 'Unity,' in tribute to the Union Oil Company. PETA supporting oil refinaries (I won't even waste my efforts on that one). Sorry folks, but Unity is a gay name for a town (no homophobic intentions there, just can't think of a better term to use). Unfortunately for the PETA people, the people of Rodeo have some sense and told the PETA to shove it.

This was at the end of the article: 'PETA has sought politically correct titles before. The group recently asked officials in Hamburg, Germany, to consider the name "Veggieburg," Franzetta said. And, to no avail, they suggested Fishkill, N.Y. try on "Fishsave" for size.' What sane human beings on this planet are funding this organization?
