Two in the hole. A flop. Go to 4th Street. Then to the river. Sounds strange? Guess you haven't been watching the World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel. Much better than ESPN's or Fox Sport's poker shows. You can see the players cards they are holding, so you know who is likely to win, but the show does a great job of building up the drama. The analyst they got there are kind of kooky too. Makes for a great show. World Poker Tour Championships are this Wednesday at 9pm, with a replay on Saturday at 2pm.
Many of my poker friends watch this show. We love it. We have to pretend we're betting hundreds of thousands of dollars when we play, making our 'all in' bets very dramatic. Texas Hold 'em has become the number 1 ranked game we play. Helps offset my losses playing the carnival wild card games when I bet like crazy. Yesterday, we didn't even play my favorite Fives and Dimes game and I still was down $17 (note: we did not play for 'real' money). Need to practice more before I go on tour.
