A few sports rants today:
Basketball
The Cleveland Cavaliers win the NBA lottery, meaning the the $90 million dollar Nike salesman Lebron James will stay near home. My problem with the NBA draft is why do they do the ping pong ball lottery backstage? What is the point of having team representatives sit on stage to see an envelope being opened? I see no reason why we can't see the lottery live, unless the NBA is trying to rig the system. The NBA makes it whole schedule TV friendly, with playoff series that last forever, yet the draft lottery has less entertainment value than Mr. Personality (I do not watch the show).
Golf
So Annika is playing with the men this week. The whole thing is one huge publicity stunt. One great female golfer does not make the LPGA equal to the men on the PGA. 99.8% of the LPGA would get killed playing from the back tees.
In other golf news, I am entered in the Normal Lau Tour's Memorial Day Tournament, and I refuse to lose to a girl. I'll even give Fanny 20 strokes to play with. Fanny, however, still cannot join my private golf club.
Bowling
I went bowling today with Howie and John. It had been over a year since I bowled and it showed. My warmup game score was a sizzling 81. Came back with a decent second game score of 120-something. Becasue of my unorthodox bowling style, my right bicep, all 21-inches around, is kind of sore.
