On Saturday, I went to a Tri-Star sports card and collectibles show at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. Admission was $10, but I figured the three hours shopping would be more worth it than watching Shanghai Knights (more about Knights later). I had all these plans to blow hundreds of dollars on football rookies and Marian Gaborik cards. My pal De and I (as did my pals Allan and Dave) went around looking for deals, but didn't find anything really good to blow hundreds of dollars on. I did get a Pete Maravich card (more on Pistol Pete later also). With all the money I saved, I can now pay my rent.
One minor upgrade I added to this blog is that you can now post comments to all the crap I write about. I saw the feature on several other blogs and I wanted to keep my blog up with the hot trends. You can use a variety of smiley faces to accentuate your comments. They didn't have my favorite smiley face available, so here it is for you: , )
I did not watch Shanghai Noon and I sure am not going to watch Shanghai Knights. (I'm expecting angry comments from Jackie Chan any minute now) But tonight, thanks to DirectTV, I finally got to see Black Knight. Hilarious.
I also have a set of basketball instructional tapes called 'Pistol Pete's Basketball Homework,' which I bought off a Christian video website. Pete had some basketball skills that would make today's And 1 crew jealous. Anyways, there are a bunch of drills that he teaches to iprove your basketball skills. A few days ago, I learned one called the 'Ricochet.' Standing with your legs straight and your feet slightly more than shoulder width apart, take the ball in front of you, bounce it between your feet and through your legs, and catch it behind you. The 'Rhythym Ricochet' is slightly more advanced. You start the same way, but after bouncing it through your legs, you bounce it back through your legs from behind and catch the ball in front. My favorite and the most dangerous of the set is called the 'Bullet Ricochet.' You take your stance, then slam the ball down as hard as you can through your legs and catch it behind you. Do these drills for 30 minutes a day and you will be well on your way to a career in the NBA. If the Bullet Ricochet doesn't kill you first.
