I went 3-1 on my first round NFL playoff picks. Only people living in Atlanta could have thought the Falcons had a chance in Green Bay. At least it means that there is no way the 49ers have to play at Lambeau. The 49ers are the best team in football and the Raiders stink so bad I can smell them from Richmond. Can't wait for the next round of games.
Speaking of contact sports, I played a little basketball at church today. I am on one of the He-Men teams, which is reserved for folks in college or above. (For those that do not know, He-Man is a big muscular guy who fights against the evil Skeletor and his minions. He-Man, while he has a dumb redundant superhero name, is actually Prince Adam in the land of Eternia and he transforms by holding up the Sword of Power and saying "By the power of Grayskull." Why he bothers to keep his identity as Adam, I do not know.) Today we were playing against the high school seniors team on a fairly small court. I saw an errant pass and used my blazing speed to leap forward and intercept the ball. Unknown to me, my teammate Ben also saw the same errant pass and he ran back to intercept the ball. What happened next, according to my brother Pat (you can read his account at his blog, one of my updated links. Does anyone not have a blog?), it looked like a football collision. I have never been laid out like that playing football though. I ended up flat on my back and saw Ben staggering next to me. My best guess is that he headbutted my elbow. Because we had no subs or team doctors, we played the rest of the game and promptly lost. I hope that Ben is okay. I have a right elbow contusion and somehow hurt my right shin during the fall and will be listed as probable for next week's game.
