The end of the football regular season is upon us and with it the end of another season of fantasy football. That which made every NFL game, even the likes of a Ravens-Bengals matchup interesting, is no more. In my primary league, it looks like I will finish 5th out of 13 teams. Not a great year, but my chances of becoming the league champion vanished in week 10 of the season when my superstar reciever Az-Zahir Hakim dislocated his left hip. It hurt me more than it hurt him. The last 6 weeks, my team has performed at a level of high mediocrity (I don't even know if that is a word). As the trash talking and box score checking sessions come to a close, I have learned a few things from my league that fantasy football owners may want to keep in mind next season.
- avoid all players who have played in the XFL or have made a Chunky soup commercial
- guys named Dante/Donte are fast
- Michael Vick needs better recievers to throw to
- TE's have the best names (Bubba, Alge, Boo, Itula, Zeron, this list could go on forever)
Check back here in August for my 2003 fantasy football draft tips. Until then, I guess I will have to manage my fantasy basketball and fantasy hockey teams.
