note: This post was supposed to be published on Sunday night, but it was raining so we pushed it back to this morning.
I went to the Giants game tonight. What a great game. Not only because the Giants beat the lowly Dodgers. But because of how we beat the lowly Dodgers. ('We' being the team. Us fans don't get to beat down the lowly Dodgers since we moved from Candlestick.) The most unlikely of heroes stepped up tonight. Marvin Benard. The one SF player from last year who was booed more than Livan Hernandez, that Benard. The same Benard who swings at pitches above his head and also lets fly balls go over his head. He threw out a runner trying to advance to third on a single to right in the top of the 12th inning. He also drove in the game winning run with a double in the bottom of the 12th. Felipe Alou is a genius. The Giants are going to win 140 games this year.
Jeff Gordon also won the NASCAR race at Martinsville today. What a great day. Even got to see an exciting finish at the Masters golf tournament.
Guess the only people it was not a good day for was Dodger fans and Jeff Gordon haters. Speaking of Dodger fans, check out Howie's blog. He actually thought the Dodgers had a chance to win. Even though I used to live with him, I do not know why he insist on being called a duck. Maybe because he likes eating quackers. I quack myself up. Okay, no more.
Now that I have a total of 12 links on my sidebar, it may be time to make cuts for the playoff roster. Right now, only Kikkoman's link is safe.
